Incident Reported in McKenzie County 

 

BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of produced water release occurring Tuesday, January 30 at the GALAXY SWD 1 well location, about 6.8 miles from Keene, McKenzie County, North Dakota.  

 

Goodnight Midstream reported Wednesday, January 31 that 962 bbl of brine were released due to facility valve freezing and water flowing out of the South truck offload. Product was contained on-site and cleanup is underway. At the time of reporting 962 bbl of brine had been recovered.

 

A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.

 

Federal and state laws require federal and/or state agencies be notified in the event of accidental spillage of any materials that may pollute water, air or soil.
