Incident Reported Tank Leak in Mountrail County
BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of an oil release occurring Friday, January 26 at the CA S 158-93-21-23-3MBHX well location, about 15 miles from Powers Lake City, Mountrail County, North Dakota.
LIBERTY RESOURCES MANAGEMENT COMPANY, LLC reported Monday, January 29 that 300 barrels of oil were released due to tank leak. Product was contained on-site and cleanup is underway. At the time of reporting 175 barrels of oil had been recovered.
A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
Federal and state laws require federal and/or state agencies be notified in the event of accidental spillage of any materials that may pollute water, air or soil.
